DVCAST: Manager for NetWare broadcast messages under DESQview
ver 0.10 - (c) BCMI 1991
***FREEWARE*** you may copy and share this program as long as no money is
involved (except for media and shipping expenses)
DVCAST displays NetWare broadcast messages in a DESQview-way
without interrupting background operation. Every time a broadcast message
is displayed, it can be cleared by the <Esc> key or a mouse click.
To install DVCAST, copy the files DVCAST.EXE and NW-PIF.DVP in the
DESQview directory and invoke 'Add a Program' in the 'Open Window' menu.
Choose 'Other' and enter the DESQview directory. Select then the
'NetWare broadcast' program.
The DVCAST task is invoked by the 'NW' key combination. When it is
started, DVCAST is hidden. You can however display the DVCAST main window by
manually switching to it with the 'Switch Windows' command of the DESQview
menu.
DVCAST keeps a copy of the last ten broadcast messages in its main
window. It is recommended to hide the DVCAST task again after reading its
main window (use 'Rearrange' 'Hide' in the DESQview menu).
Remember to add a call to CASTON after DV.COM is exited in your
DV.BAT file because DVCAST modifies the way NETx.COM manages broadcast
messages.
DVCAST can be automatically invoked when DESQview is started by
creating a DESQview-menu level keyboard macro which name starts with a '!'
(please refer to the DESQview documentation for more details).
